WINTER EVENTS  2024


We are once again running a mini pre season tour in March/April 2024, venues and dates shown below. These will be 18 hole stableford events (non -qualifying for handicap).


Entries should be submitted via the online entry form (link below) and payment of entry fee(s) MUST be paid at time of entry by direct transfer into the SSGS Bank Account, details included in footer at bottom of entry form.



March 7th  - West Kilbride  - 10:00 - 13:00

Stableford points are calculated against the RED TEE scorecard, and based on 95% course handicap.



March 22nd - Stirling - 10:30 - 13:30  --- CANCELLED

For anybody traveling to MONIFIETH or the following week to DRUMOIG, and using the Tay Bridge, be aware that there is substantial repair work being carried out which will impact on travel times.

Your entry fee for this event also includes a tea/coffee and filled roll prior to your round. This will ve served in the hotel/clubhouse.

Remember when traveling to  DRUMOIG, and using the Tay Bridge, be aware that there is substantial repair work being carried out which will impact on travel times.

Entries will be accepted on a first come basis. Estimated max players per event circa 60.

 

There will be an Order of Merit Competition, with the best 2 scores from 3 to count.

Congratulations to Colin Halcrow from Largs on winning the reduced OOM events for 2024. The weather won on a couple of occasions but hopefully all who played enjoyed the events.


Order of Merit points top 20

  • 1st - 25 points
  • 2nd - 22 points
  • 3rd - 19 points
  • 4th - 17 points
  • 5th - 16 points
  • 6th to 20th place onward points decrease by 1 Less than 30 players points will be reduced accordingly.



WINTER EVENTS  2023 SUMMARY

 

SSGS PRE-SEASON 2023 - FINAL ORDER OF MERIT LEADERBOARD

Following the 4th and final event on this year's Pre-Season Tour, Alan Gardiner with 20.5 points at Drumoig GC jumped up the leaderboard from 8th to finish on top of the OoM Leaderboard with 42.5 points. In 2nd place, Ken Milligan with 38.5 points with Ian McKerron and Donald Munro tied for 3rd with 36.5 points, and Rob Craw in 5th with 33.5 points.
Congratulations to Alan, Ken, Ian, Donald and Rob and thank you to all members who supported our pre-season events.
Also a big thank you to Stirling, Strathmore, Monifieth and Drumoig for hosting our pre-season events.

SSGS PRE-SEASON TOUR 2023 - PRIZE VOUCHERS


Following on from the conclusion of our Pre-Season Tour, the Prize Voucher summary below shows players who won prize vouchers for finishing in the top 5 places at our 4 events, and the top 10 on our Pre-Season Order of Merit leaderboard. Congratulations to Ian McKerron, coming out on top with 3 top 5 placings and tied 3rd on the OoM, and all the prize voucher winners. Vouchers will be posted out week commencing 10th April.

2022 summary


Ewan Robertson (Stirling Golf Club) emerged the winner of the 2022 Winter OOM on 45.5 points, based on best 2 results from the 4 events. Kenny Harrison (Moray Golf Club) was in 2nd place on 41.25 and Gordon Grimmer (Nigg Bay Golf Club) 3rd on 40.50. Full final positions can be viewed via link below.
