12th Oct: UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO LIKELY WEATHER TOMORROW WE HAVE RELUCTANTLY CANCELLED THE EVENT AT RANFURLY CASTLE.

1st Oct: Due to lack of entries for Monifieth Ashludie, we have had to cancel event on 5th October.

With entries closing this Friday (6th) for Ranfurly Castle on the 13th, we are still low on numbers if anyone is interested in playing please contact me asap.

Ranfurly Castle is part of next year main fixture and this may be an ideal for a practice round.

For the seventh year, we will once again be running a series  of 1 day, 18 hole Stableford Competitions over the winter months of 2017/18.

Hole in One Prize Winner

Wilson Morton was the lucky winner in the draw for the exclusive JuCad Golf Trolley (donated by courtesy of JuCad). This was awarded to any player who had a hole in one at on eof our main SSGS events. During the year there were 2 members who had a hole in 1, Wilson and Alan White (Newton Stewart).

2017 Spanish Seniors Festival

 27th Sept: Draw for doubles and singles can be viewed by clicking on links below.  

For a practice round on the saturday or sunday prior to the week, then you will have to book a tee time with the Pro Shop at Hacienda.  Buggies are not included for the practice days and will require to be paid for seperately.

13th July 2017: Can all members who are going to Spain in October please ensure that your £300 is paid by the end of July. Payment can be made by cheque to SSGS (Spain Trip) and sent to SSGS, P.O. Box 19610, Johnstone, Renfrewshire, PA5 5AQ or by direct payment into SSGS Bank Account. Please ensure you state your name and the ref "Spain".

2nd May 2017: Hacienda Accommodation - Room available for 1 person in 4-bedroom apartment 5 minutes from the course. Sharing with 3 SSGS members. Only 150 Euros for the week. Car share also available. Please contact Alex Hogg for details on 01786 815246.

We are once again returning to Hacienda Del Alamo in October for our 2017 Spanish Festival.

Seniors Team updates

8th Sept: Unfortunately Denmark emerged victors this morning by a 3.5/1.5 margin in the semi finals. Ireland defeated England in other semi, which means we play England this afternoon for Bronze medal. A good showing lads, hard lines and good luck for this afternoon.

7th Sept: 

14:00: Defeated Norway 4-1 in quarter finals. Looks like it will be Denmark in semi's tomorrow morning.

09:00:The Scottish team have made a good start in their attempt to retain the European title that they won in Slovenia last year.  The team of Ian Brotherston, Graham Bell, Ronnie Clark, Stewart Henderson, Nick Robson and Robert Smith led the qualifiers for the matchplay stages with a four under par total of 716 after two qualifying rounds at the PGA National course in Sweden.  Star performer was Ronnie Clark who scored 66, 70 for an eight under par total of 136.  Ronnie won the individual event by four shots.

Scotland play Norway tomorrow for a place in the semi finals.
