Well doen Duncan on keeping the SSGS flag flying high abroad.
Open report for full details.
Within a few weeks of having re-joined Western Australia’s premier golf club, Lake Karrinyup Country Club at the beginning of November, SSGS member Duncan Hamilton promptly succeeded in winning the Club Championship at that club, having previously lost 3 times in the final between 2004 and 2008.
In the quarter final he defeated Nick Curnow at the 19th hole. Nick had recently captained the Western Australian State Team for a 3-year spell. In the semi-final, Duncan defeated the defending champion, fellow-Scotsman Frazer Bone by 3&2. Frazer had been a Scottish junior Internationalist for 3 years, playing out of the Cardross Golf Club, before emigrating to Australia around 10 years ago. Then in the 36-hole final, Duncan defeated Peter Robinson by 5&4. In his younger days, Peter had been the losing finalist in the English Amateur Championship.
Well done Duncan.
