Central Scotland Open 4th/5th July Stirling
Central Scotland Open - Stirling - 4th/5th July 2019
Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon), romps to a 9 shot victory at the Central Open at Stirling, with a total 135. His first round 65 (including an albatross 2), is believed to have equalled the course record at Stirling (awaiting confirmation). In second place on 144 was his fellow Royal Troon member, Robert Jenkins who pipped Ronnie Clark (Erskine) as a result of a better 2nd round on countback. Great shooting from Paul over the 2 days.
It should also be mentioned that Ian Smith (Gullane) had a hole in 1 at the par 3 10th.
In the handicap event, Paul also shot the best Nett score with a 137, but as cannot win 2 prizes, the award of 1st place goes to Ken Thomson (Bramhall Park) with a Nett 141, winning by a 3 shot margin from Keith Reilly (Silverknowes) who edged out George Barrie (Callander) for 2nd place as a result of better 2nd round. Also on 144 were Keith Ross (Glasgow) and Andrew Aitken (Stirling).
