Stewart Henderson wins West of Scotland Seniors Open
Stewart Henderson (Hamilton) won our West of Scotland Seniors Open, reduced to one round because of high winds on Thursday, with a two-under-par score of 68.
Stewart won by one stroke from Ian Brotherston (Dumfries and County) with Ronnie Clark (Erskine) third on the 70 mark at Ranfurly Castle Golf Club.
Stewart had a mixed big bag of figures. He had an eagle 2 at the third and birdies at the first, third, fourth and short 14th. But he ran up a double bogey 6 at the eight and dropped strokes to par at the 12th and 17th in halves of 34.
Ian's highlights in a 69 were an eagle 3 at the third and a birdie at the 12th.

Maurice Lindsay wins East of Scotland Open

St Andrews was affected badly by Haar on both days of the competition, resulting in delays to start. On Thursday we had to resort to a 2 tee start after a 3 hour delay, and on Friday a 2 hour delay occurred. Many thanks to Archie & Dave and the staff at Fairmont in re-organising starts to allow the competition to proceed.

At the end of the 2 days, Monifieth's Maurice Lindsay emerged the winner with rounds of 73 and 69 for two-under 142.
The winner and the runner-up, Gary Tough (Edzell), beaten by only one stroke, were the only players in the big field to go as low as 69 on the second day.

Nairn's Robert Smith, joint first-round leader with a 71, looked to have the title sewn up when he reached the turn in a bogey-free 32 shots in his second round but he had a nightmare inward half of 41 for a 73 which dragged him down to third place on 144.

In the handicap section Keith Renton (Lundin) had a narrow one shot victory over Billy Erskine (Kilysth Lennox) and Gary Tough (Edzell) on 149.
