2019 Order Of Merits

Saturday, 07 September 2019

After the final Super Seniors event at Ladybank, George Rodaks (Dunfermline Pitreavie) holds onto top slot in the 2019 Order of Merit. George had to call off playing at Ladybank, but his opponents couldn’t take advantage to overhaul his lead. George won on 1070 points, with Jalil Aman in second place on 1003, with Neish Chisholm in 3rd place only 1 point back on 1002. Congratulations George on a consistent season.

Jalil Aman (Grangemouth) emerged as winner of the Super Seniors Gross Order of Merit for 2019. A strong finish ay Ladybank where he topped both the scratch and handicap competitions, gave him enough points to edge out Keith Bruce (Edzell). Jalil's winning points total was 1470, with Keith 2nd on 1380. In 3rd place was Lindsay Gordon (Turnhouse) on 1305. These 3 were well clear of 4th place which was 867 points.

Congratulations to Ronnie on another succesful season, which started off slow by his standards, but picked up pace towards the end.

Autumn Meeting 22/23rd August Nairn

Saturday, 31 August 2019

23rd August: We are having some system issues with Golfbox and cannot close down round 2 to send your scores through to CDH. We will need to investigate along with Scottish Golf, and this will be done after the bank holiday on Monday.

We also had problems with the CSS calculation for round 1. Initially this was calculated at 74 R/O, but has since been amended to 76 R/O. The small number of players affected will be contacted seperately to advise steps being taken to sort out.

CSS for round 2 was 75.

We will update in due course.

Ian Kerr.

July 2019 Newsletter update

                     THE GENERATIONS CUP.

The S.S.G.S. and Golphin have joined forces in a new initiative to develop links between Senior and Junior golf in Scotland.

Our inaugural event will be held at Dunning Golf Club on Sunday 22nd September with a 10.30 shotgun start

The format will be Texas scramble with 9 teams, each comprising of 2 Golphin and  2  S.S.G.S  players.

We therefore require 18 players to make the day a success - any wives / partners keen to play will also be most welcome.

This is a great opportunity for S.S.G.S. to be involved from the outset in this new and exciting drive from Golphin to develop Junior golf in Scotland and we will, in the coming months, consider other potential ties between our respective groups.

We trust this event will be well supported and would ask anyone interested to contact Keith Ross - mobile number - 07483 273489 or by e-mail - rosco1956@hotmail.co.uk
