SSGS Main Sponsor McCrea Financial Services Invitation

Friday, 10 July 2015

McCrea Financial Services are delighted to be sponsors of the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society and look at the many ways in which we canwork with y ou to both tell you more about us and what we do but also to establish how we may be of assistance to you.

With that in mind, we are looking into running a small event for the membership looking at retirement planning options with an emphasis on the new pension regulations that have just been introduced and how they might
affect you. This also provides us with the opportunity to introduce you to some of the McCrea Financial services team.

What would help us greatly in putting this together would be understanding whether you would prefer this to take place at one of the SSGS events or separately and based in our Glasgow offices.

Please email elaineh@mccreafs.co.uk to advise on location preference (SSGS competition event or Glasgow offices) and whether our suggested topic meets with your requirements. We can then make sure we organise something that best suits you as a member of the society.

As always, for any other financial matters that you would like to discuss, please call us on 0141 572 1340 or email enquiries@mccreafs.co.uk to set up an initial free consultation.

Central Scotland Open - 2nd & 3rd July 2015

Monday, 29 June 2015

3rd July: CSS for round 1 was 73.  Round 2 was 73. Full scores can be viewed on competition's page.

In a very tight finish at Glenbervie, the holder Ronnie Clark (Erskine) tied with Duncan Hamilton (Mortonhall) on 142. They finished one shot ahead of Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) and Lindsay Blair (Grangemouth) on 143.

Duncan Hamilton sprang from the chasing pack with a superb second score of 68 which included an inward half of 33 to set a target of 142. Paul Moultrie reached the turn in 33 and looked set to better this but came home in 40 due to some putting lapses.

That left Ronnie Clark playing in the last group and bidding for a hat-trick of wins in this event. He overcame a lost ball at the 11th hole to return a 72 and tie with Hamilton.

Laurie Chancellor (Inverness) took fifth place on 145 with former internationals, George Barrie (Callander) and Ian Brotherston (Dumfries and County) in joint sixth place on 146.

Lindsay Blair had the added consolation of the main handicap prize, just pipping local favourite, Denis McQuade and George Barrie.

Glenbervie was in superb condition and presented an excellent test for all the players.

Nest stop Stirling for the Match-Play championships.
