Charity Donations 2018

Friday, 17 August 2018

Oct 2018

This season we decided to have a bucket at each of our events to try and squeeze some money out of our members to be donated to The British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK. Thanks to your generosity, we have rounded up the sum raised to £800 of which we will donate half to each charity. The £400 donation to The British Heart Foundation has been made in memory of Tom Gray, a long standing member who died recently, in fact only two days after competing in our Super Seniors' event at Forfar.  I think this epitomises our Society in particular the closeness, camaraderie and friendship which has developed between our members over the years since our inception. Many thanks to you all for your generosity.

AUG 2018: Death of SSGS Member Tom Gray

Sadly we have to report the death of one of our long standing members, Tom Gray from Lanark. He was well known to many of the members.

Tom was one of our early members and was active in the Society for the past 10+ years. In fact his last appearance was this week as the Super Seniors Open at Forfar. His sudden death will come as a shock and surprise to all.

Further details re funeral will be published when available.
