SUPER SENIORS INTERNATIONAL MASTERS 2021
The inaugural 3-day Masters event for 65-year-old and over concluded on Friday 3rd September. The final day’s weather was a bit cooler than the previous 2 days which had been played in warm Autumn sunshine. The standard of play throughout the week was high, on a course presented in excellent condition.
Ian Brotherston (Dumfries & County) lifted the Scratch trophy with a 3-round total of 6 under par 207, winning by 10 shots from John Fraser (Royal Burgess Golfing Society) with Douglas Cameron (Worthing Golf Club) in 3rd, a further shot back.
In the Handicap section, SSGS Vice-President Jim Kinloch won the trophy with 3 consistent rounds finishing with a net total of 204 (9 under par), winning by 5 shots from Martin Lee (Frilford Heath Golf Club), with Billy Mitchell (Hankley Common Golf Club) a further shot back in 3rd place.

Following the cancellation in 2020 of the event, the inaugural 3 day competition will now be held at Gullane (No 2 Course) on 1st to 3rd September 2021.

Draw for rounds 1 & 2 now carried out and can be viewed by clicking on links below. Practice rounds on Tuesday 31st August only can be booked by contacting the starters at Gullane Golf Links on 01620 843 767. If any player wishes a practice round on other days they will be subject to availability and normal visitor rates.
For the last few years we have run four 36- hole Super Senior events open to competitors aged 65 and over, as well as our 8 main tour events.
Currently there is no 54-hole Open Super Seniors tournament in Scotland and at the request of our membership we have included the inaugural Super Seniors International Masters on our 2021 fixture list.
The 54-hole event is open to all aged 65 or over on first day of competition.
The event is expected to draw low handicap golfers from across the U.K and Europe. The handicap limit is 12.4 and if oversubscribed a ballot will apply. Ballot will be on handicap basis, based on handicap as at closing date.
Entry fee for the 3-day event is £80 and entries close on the 31st July 2021.
The venue, Gullane No 2 on the East Lothian Coast is a world renowned venue, and wil prove an excellent test of golf. Play will be from white tees, slope rating 126, course rating 71.0
There will be scratch and handicap prizes available.
