North Region forms a big lump of the country and we feel that a local section can reflect the diversity of culture between what we shall call Greater Aberdeen and (even) Greater Inverness. We invite contributions from all members within the area and even thon chiels frae the saft sooth who have something interesting to add. To start with we need a neat title for the page and so Vice Captain John Johnston is offering a refinished Bromford to the best title suggestion. Ideas can be submitted to the SSGS Forum Page or by email to David Bunker at the address opposite.

James Emslie wins Nairn Club Championship From David Bunker, North Website Editor James Emslie who plays in SSGS events out of his home club Royal Aberdeen is the new Nairn Golf Club champion. James led the field with a four under par 68 in the first qualifying before qualifying comfortably for one of the eight match play places. In the first round James defeated the number two seed Graham Burnett by 4&3 before despatching an unusually out of form local baker George Asher by 6&5 in the semis. James then went on the win the final by 2&1 against the much fancied local +1 player Robert Smith. Well done James on this well merited achievement.
