Here we detail those groups and individuals offering various forms of support to the SSGS effort. |
SSGS enter sponsorship tie-up with Abbeyfield Scotland Ltd. We are delighted to announce an agreement whereby Abbeyfield has provided a superb new trophy for our match play championship and will offer ongoing sponsorship for that event as well as funding to assist the overall running of our Society. At a ceremony within their Head Office on 8th April, Abbeyfield chairman Michael White formally handed over the magnificent new trophy and sponsorship cheque to SSGS Captain Gordon MacDonald (see photo below)
Also attending the ceremony were Jim Craigie, Finance Director and Karen Barr, Head Office Service Manager, for Abbeyfield. Jim and Peter Kinloch and Keith Howie attended for SSGS. Member Brian Highley, who has a foot in both camps, was also present. Brian was the prime motivator behind the sponsorship agreement. Jim Craigie expressed his pleasure at the tie up and said there was a good deal of synergy between the organisations. More photos in the gallery. The trophy will be presented to our champion, Ronnie Maclean, during the Spring Open at Glasgow Gailes. Abbeyfield Scotland Ltd. is closely associated with SSGS having agreed to sponsor our matchplay championship and also offer generous financial support towards the general administration of SSGS. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Abbeyfield
