While each of the SSGS events is a successful stand alone tournament, the main thread for the season is the Order of Merit. This is administered for the Society by Euan Mordaunt of the Scottish Golf Union and provides a great deal of interest both from within SSGS membership and the wider golfing public.  Here we show the current rules governing the OOM and the latest table of standings.

At the 2008 AGM it was decided that participation in the OOM should be open to all members, irrespective of nationality, so long as they complete the minimum required number of tournaments.

SSGS Order of Merit 2010  The Final Table

Finals day produced its usual fascinating climax to the Order of Merit with four players all in contention for the top honour at the start of play. Long time leader Scott Macdonald was suffering from a virus and not really in a position to cope with the demands of the tough Landsdowne track. Scott had therefore to depend on others taking enough points from his fellow contenders if he was to hold on to his lead. As it worked out the ever consistent Tony Stafford was up to the task and his carefully crafted 73 was good enough for 61 points and tne 2010 crown.
